Abstract

Piracetam spada u skupinu nootropnih lijekova i psihostimulansa te se kao takav propisuje za liječenje
mioklonusa, afazije te disleksije.
Za njegovo određivanje najviše se koriste kromatografske metode s UV detektorom kao najjednostavnijim
načinom detekcije. Kromatografske metode (HPLC, UPLC) koriste se za kvantitativnu analizu piracetama i
njegovih onečišćenja. Masena spektrometrija kao način detekcije supstancija nakon odjeljivanja na
kromatografskoj koloni daje detaljne informacije o strukturi spoja što je korišteno za objašnjenje strukture
razgradnog produkta piracetama u alkalnim uvjetima.
S obzirom da nije pronađen nijedan rad koji govori o kromatografskoj metodi analize piracetama s
elektrokemijskom detekcijom, cilj je bio ispitati elektrokemijska svojstva piracetama.
Provedena su mjerenja cikličkom voltametrijom, ispitivane su oksidacija i redukcija analita pri različitim pH
vrijednostima. Mijenjani su uvjeti ispitivanja kao što su vrsta i koncentracija osnovnog elektrolita, koncentracija
otopine piracetama te vrsta radne elektrode i modifikacija njezine površine.
Na temelju svega ispitanog, može se zaključiti da piracetam nije elektrokemijski aktivan te se kao takav ne može
elektrokemijski detektirati.

Abstract (english)

Piracetam belongs to a group of nootropic drugs and psychostimulants, and as such is prescribed for the
treatment of myoclonus, aphasia and dyslexia.
For its determination, the most widely used chromatographic methods with a UV detector are the easiest
detection method. Chromatographic methods (HPLC, UPLC) are used for quantitative analysis of piracetals and
their contaminants. Mass spectrometry as a mode of detection of the substance after separation on the
chromatographic column provides detailed information on the structure of the compound as used to illustrate the
structure of the degradable product of piracetam in alkaline conditions.
Since no work was found about the chromatographic analysis of piracetam with electrochemical detection, the
aim was to investigate electrochemical properties of piracetals.
Measurements with cyclic voltammetry were performed, oxidation and analytical reduction at various pH values
were investigated. Changing conditions such as the type and concentration of the basic electrolyte, the
concentration of the piracetam solution, the type of working electrode and the modification of its surface have
changed.
based on all the examined, it can be concluded that piracetam is not electrochemically active and can not be
electrochemically detected as such.
