Abstract

Od drevnih vremena ljudi su koristili životinje i njihove produkte u medicinske svrhe. Najviše su se koristili med, vosak, mošusno ulje, koralji i ambra. Životinjskim drogama najčešće su liječili rane i bolesti kože, gastrointestinalne tegobe, hemeroide, opekline, impotenciju te očne bolesti. Danas se životinjske droge koriste u narodnoj medicini, a njihove izlučevine u homeopatiji. Kako Zavod za farmakognoziju Farmaceutsko-biokemijskog fakulteta posjeduje bogatu Farmakognošku zbirku u kojoj se nalaze ljekovite droge biljnog i životinjskog podrijetla, cilj ovog rada bio je predstaviti odabrane animalne droge i proučiti njihovu uporabu u povijesti i danas. Monografijski su prikazani prikupljeni podaci o sljedećim drogama: Cantharides, Coccionella, Colla piscium, Moschus, Scincus and Shellac.

Abstract (english)

Since ancient times, animals and their products have been used for medicinal purposes. Most used products were honey, wax, musk oil, coral and ambergris. The following diseases have been commonly treated: gastrointestinal aliments, haemorrhoids, skin diseases and wunds, burns, impotence and eye diseases. Today, animal drugs are mainly used in folk medicine and homeoopathy. Since, Department of Pharmacognosy (Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochenmistry) possesses a rich Pharmacognostic collection of herbal and animal drugs, the objective of this work was to present the selected animal drugs and to study their use in history and today. Collected data on the following animal drugs have been shown monographically: Cantharides, Coccionella, Colla piscium, Moschus, Scincus and Shellac.
