Abstract

Cilj diplomskog rada je opisati trenutno relevantne činjenice o cjelokupnom razvoju i organizaciji zdrave i funkcionalne kožne barijere. Rad je strukturiran na način da su prvo izložene osnovne činjenice o diferencijaciji keratinocita, odnosno procesu nastanka funkcionalnih korneocita, a zatim su kategorizirane sve informacije o građi intercelularnog prostora stratum corneuma i kožnoj homeostazi prema glavnim lipidnim skupinama. Konačno, radu su pridodani i tablični prikazi kozmetičkih proizvoda dostupnih u ljekarnama koji u svom sastavu imaju jednu ili više vrsta lipida iz glavnih skupina, a čija namjena je obnova kožne barijere i ublažavanje karakterističnih tegoba poput svrbeža, crvenila, ljuštenja i zatezanja s kojima se svakodnevno susreću osobe koje pate od različitih kožnih bolesti.

Abstract (english)

The main goal of this diploma thesis is to describe currently relevant facts concerning development and organisation of healthy and fully-functional skin barrier. This thesis is conceptualized in a way that the main information regarding keratinocyte diferentiation (the process of formation of functional corneocytes) is stated first, followed by information about the structure of stratum corneum intercellular space and skin homeostasis categorized by the main lipid groups. Finally, added tables present lists of commercially available cosmeceuticals which contain one or more lipid species from the main lipid groups and whose main purpose is to renew damaged skin barrier and reduce signs of commonly present problems like itchyness, redness, scaling and tightness which people struggling with various skin diseases are faced with in their daily life.
