Abstract

Cilj istraživanja
Cilj ovog istraživanja je utvrditi potencijal primjene antipruritika u temeljnoj topikalnoj terapiji
atopijskog dermatitisa te provesti detaljnu pretragu literature o prirodnim tvarima s potencijalnim
antipruritičkim učinkom za topikalnu primjenu kod atopijskog dermatitisa, s izuzećem ljekovitih biljaka
tradicionalne kineske medicine.
Materijal i metode
Istraživanje u okviru ovog specijalističkog rada je teorijskog karaktera te uključuje pregled dostupne
literature o odabranoj temi. Pretražene su elektronske bibliografske baze podataka PubMed i
ScienceDirect te priručnik o atopijskom dermatitisu namijenjen stručnoj zajednici. Pregledane su sve
publikacije koje su se pojavile kao rezultat pretrage s dostupnim cjelovitim tekstovima, ili u iznimnim
slučajevima sažecima. Na temelju pregledane publikacije izvedena su vlastita razmatranja proučavane
problematike koja su sastavni dio ovog istraživanja.
Rezultati
Uspješno liječenje atopijskog dermatitisa trebalo bi, uz protuupalnu terapiju, uključivati i svakodnevnu
primjenu emolijensa plus - topikalnog pripravka emolijentnih svojstava uz dodatak tvari s
antipruritičkim učinkom. Istaknuto je ukupno 20 prirodnih tvari s potencijalnim antipruritičkim
djelovanjem kod atopijskog dermatitisa koji su prikladni za primjenu na koži.
Zaključak
Primjena emolijensa s dodatkom antipruritičkih sastojaka, emolijensa plus, dodatno može pospješiti
liječenje atopijskog dermatitisa i utjecati na kvalitetu života bolesnika. Za svaki identificirani
potencijalni prirodni antipruritik potrebna su dodatna istraživanja koja će potvrditi njihov antipruritički
učinak, utvrditi učinkovite doze u topikalnom pripravku te istražiti sigurnost njihove primjene u sklopu
emolijensa plus.

Abstract (english)

Objectives
The objectives of this research is to determine the potential of using antipruritics in the basic topical
therapy of atopic dermatitis and to conduct a detailed literature review on natural substances with
potential antipruritic effect for topical application in atopic dermatitis, excluding medicinal plants of
traditional Chinese medicine.
Material and methods
The research within this specialist work is of a theoretical nature and includes a review of the available
literature on the selected topic. The electronic bibliographic databases PubMed and ScienceDirect, as
well as the manual on atopic dermatitis intended for the professional community, were searched. All
publications that appeared as a result of the search with available full texts, or in exceptional cases,
abstracts, were reviewed. Based on the reviewed publication, original considerations of the studied
issue were developed, which are an integral part of this research.
Results
Successful treatment of atopic dermatitis should include not only anti-inflammatory therapy but also
the daily use of emollient plus - a topical preparation with emollient properties with the addition of
substances with antipruritic effect. This study highlights 20 natural substances with potential
antipruritic activity suitable for topical application in atopic dermatitis.
Conclusion
The use of emollients with the addition of antipruritic ingredients, known as emollients plus, can
further enhance the treatment of atopic dermatitis and impact the patient's quality of life. Additional
research is needed for each identified potential natural antipruritic to confirm its effectiveness,
determine optimal doses in topical formulations, and assess its safety when used in emollient plus.
