Abstract

U okviru ove studije istražena je mogućnost korištenja ekstrakata kore mandarine i komine
rajčice bogatih polifenolima u fitosintezi nanočestica selena sa ciljem postizanja adsorpcije bioaktivnih
komponenti iz navedenih ekstrakta na površinu nastalih nanočestica i postizanja poželjnih promjena
njihovih svojstava. Postupci fitosinteze karakterizirani su obzirom na iskorištenje postupka raspodjelu
veličina čestica, zeta potencijal, antiradikalnu i reduktivnu sposobnost. Korištenje istraživanih prirodnih
ekstrakata povećava iskoristivost postupka biogene sinteze, a nastale čestice su značajno veće sa širom
raspodjelom veličine čestica, te značajno negativnijeg zeta-potencijala u odnosu na kemijski
sintetizirane.. Fitonanoselen sintetiziran uz kominu rajčice pokazivao je značajnu reduktivnu sposobnost
dok je antiradikalna učinkovitost bila usporediva sa onom kemijski sintetiziranog nanoselena
(zanemariva) što je vjerojatno posljedica adsorpcije reduktivnih šećera prisutnih u ekstraktu na površinu
nanočestica. Fitonanoselen sintetiziran uz kori mandarine pokazao je znatno veću antiradikalnu i
reduktivnu sposobnost u odnosu na kemijski sintetizirani nanoselen što je vjerojatno posljedica
adsorpcije polifenola prisutnih u ekstraktu na površinu nanočestica. Usprkos prednostima, postupke
fitosinteze nanoselena potrebno je dodatno optimirati kako bi se dobile uniformnije i manje nanočestice.

Abstract (english)

The study investigated the possibility of using tangerine peel and tomato pomace extracts rich
in polyphenols in the phytosynthesis of selenium nanoparticles. The goal was to achieve adsorption of
bioactive components from these extracts on the surface of the nanoparticles resulting in desirable
changes in nanoselenium properties. Applicability of proposed phytosynthesis processes was
characterized in terms of utilization, particle size distribution, zeta potential, antiradical and reductive
properties. The use of investigated natural extracts increased the efficiency of phytosynthesis process,
and the resulting particles were significantly larger with a wider distribution of particle size, and
significantly higher negative zeta potential. This is probably due to the adsorption of reducing sugars
present in the extract on the surface of the nanoparticles. Phytonanoselen synthesized with mandarin
peel showed significantly higher antiradical and reductive ability compared to chemically synthesized
nanoselen, which is probably due to the adsorption of polyphenols present in the extract on the surface
of nanoparticles. Despite the advantages, nano-selenium phytosynthesis processes need to be further
optimized to obtain more uniform and smaller nanoparticles.
