Cilj ovog rada bio je predstaviti kompleksnost sindroma preuranjene iscrpljenosti jajnika koji zahvaća sve mlađu populaciju žena te uzrokuje brojne štetne posljedice na njihovo zdravlje i čime im bitno narušava kvalitetu života. U određenom broju slučajeva može čak i skratiti životni vijek žene zbog ozbiljnih posljedica povezanih s kardiovaskularnim sustavom. Zbog moguće smanjene plodnosti u žena s preuranjenom iscrpljenošću jajnika, u ljekarničkom savjetovanju je naglasak posebice vezan uz primjenu različitih dodataka prehrani te vitaminsko-mineralne suplementacije u svrhu poboljšanja reproduktivnog zdravlja. Abstract (english)

The aim of this study was to present the complexity of the syndrome of premature ovarian failure, which affects a younger population of women and causes numerous harmful consequences for their health and thus significantly impairs their quality of life. In a number of cases, it can even shorten a woman’s lifespan due to the serious consequences associated with the cardiovascular system. Pharmacists are often the most accessible health professionals who, with their professional knowledge and information, should educate patients about the possibilities in order to increase the quality of their lives. Due to the possible reduced fertility in women with premature ovarian failure, the emphasis in pharmacy counseling is especially related to the use of various dietary supplements and vitamin-mineral supplementation in order to improve reproductive health.
