Abstract

U okviru ovoga diplomskog rada provedena je kvalitativna i kvantitativna analiza fenolnih kiselina odabranih vrsta roda Veronica L. (Plantaginaceae). Prisutnost polifenolnih spojeva dokazana je kemijskim reakcijama stvaranja obojenih produkata i taloga. Kvalitativna analiza fenolnih kiselina (kavene, klorogenske, ružmarinske i ferulične) primjenom tankoslojne kromatografije nije sa sigurnošću potvrdila njihovu prisutnost, iako se ona može pretpostaviti. Kvantitativna analiza fenolnih kiselina provedena je spektrofotometrijski te je sadržaj mjeren kao ružmarinska kiselina (505 nm) i klorogenska kiselina (525 nm). Maseni udio analiziranih fenolnih kiselina odabranih biljnih vrsta izraženih kao ružmarinska kiselina kretao se u rasponu od 0,44 % (V. cymbalaria L.) do 3,59 % (V. chamaedrys L.), odnosno, izraženih kao klorogenska kiselina u rasponu od 0,81 % (V. cymbalaria L.) do 7,18 % (V. chamaedrys L.). Provedena kvalitativna i kvantitativna analiza predstavlja prilog znanstvenom istraživanju odabranih vrsta roda Veronica L. i upotpunjuje dosadašnje spoznaje o fitoterapijskom potencijalu ovih biljnih vrsta, posebice u odnosu na sadržaj bioaktivnih fenolnih tvari.

Abstract (english)

In this graduate thesis, qualitative and quantitative analysis of phenolic acids of selected species of the genus Veronica L. (Plantaginaceae) was carried out. The presence of polyphenols has been demonstrated by general chemical reactions of developing colored products and precipitates. Qualitative analysis of phenolic acids (caffeic, chlorogenic, rosmarinic, and ferulic acid) using thin layer chromatography did not confirmed their presence with certainty, although it can be assumed. Quantitative analysis of phenolic acids was carried out using the spectrophotometric method. Phenolic acids were analyzed on 505 nm (expressed as rosmarinic acid) and 525 nm (expressed as chlorogenic acid). The contents of analyzed compounds from selected species varied from 0.44 % (V. cymbalaria L.) to 3.59 % (V. chamaedrys L.), when expressed as rosmarinic acid, and from 0.81 % (V. cymbalaria L.) to 7.18 % (V. chamaedrys L.), when expressed as chlorogenic acid. Conducted qualitative and quantitative analysis is a contribution to the scientific study of selected species of the genus Veronica L. and completes the existing knowledge about phytotherapeutic potential of these species, especially in relation to the content of bioactive phenolic substances.
