Abstract
U okviru ovoga diplomskog rada provedena je fitokemijska karakterizacija polifenola bugarske endemske vrste Micromeria frivaldszkyana (Deg.) Vel. (Lamiaceae). Kvantitativna analiza ukupnih polifenola (UP), trjeslovina (T), flavonoida (F) i fenolnih kiselina (FK) provedena je spektrofotometrijskim metodama. Sadržaj analiziranih polifenolnih tvari iznosio je: 9,39±0,06% (UP), 2,58±0,08% (T), 0,91% (F) i 6,65±0,08% (FK). Provedena fitokemijska karakterizacija predstavlja prilog znanstvenom istraživanju roda Micromeria i bugarskih endema te upotpunjuje dosadašnje spoznaje o fitoterapijskom potencijalu vrste Micromeria frivaldszkyana.

Parallel abstract (English)
In this work, phytochemical characterization of polyphenols from Bulgarian endemic species, Micromeria frivaldszkyana (Deg.) Vel. (Lamiaceae) was carried out. The presence of polyphenols was proven by using general reactions of developing colored products and precipitates. The thin layer chromatography (TLC) revealed the presence of quercetin, rutin, naringin, chlorogenic acid, and rosmarinic acid in the methanolic extract of the aerial parts of M. frivaldszkyana. Quantitative analyses of total polyphenols (TP), tannins (T), flavonoids (F), and phenolic acids (PA) were carried out using the spectrophotometric methods. The contents of analyzed polyphenolic compounds were as follows: 9.39±0.06% (TP), 2.58±0.08% (T), 0.91% (F), and 6.65±0.08% (PA). Performed phytochemical characterization is a contribution to the scientific study of the genus Micromeria and Bulgarian endemic species, and also contributes to the existing knowledge concerning phytotherapeutic potential of M. frivaldszkyana.
