Abstract

SARS-CoV-2 uzročnik je bolesti koronavirus 2019 koja je u ožujku 2020. godine proglašena globalnom
pandemijom. Klinička slika bolesti je nespecifična i varira od asimptomatske pa sve do razvoja upale pluća,
sindroma akutnog respiracijskog distresa i smrti. Zbog toga su osmišljene preporuke kojima bi se smanjilo
širenje bolesti i preuzela kontrola nad zarazom. Jedna od najvažnijih preporuka je redovita dezinfekcija
ruku antisepticima te pranje sapunima i sindetima. Njihova učestala primjena može dovesti do oštećenja
površinskih slojeva i poremećaja barijerne funkcije kože, narušenja kožnog mikrobioma i kolonizacije
patološkim organizmima. U takvim uvjetima povećan je rizik nastanka ekcema ruku, od kojih je najviše
zastupljen iritativni, a potom i alergijski kontaktni dermatitis. Uvođenjem promjena u rutinu higijene ruku
kao što je pranje mlačnom vodom, pravilno sušenje ruku i korištenje ovlaživača koji će vratiti vlagu koži i
spriječiti njezin gubitak, moguće je spriječiti neželjene dermatološke učinke.

Abstract (english)

SARS-CoV-2 is the cause of COVID-19, which was declared a global pandemic in March 2020. Clinical
manifestations of the disease range from asymptomatic presentation to to the development of severe
pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome and death. Thus, preventive measures have been issued to
reduce the spread of the disease and take control of the infection. One of the essential recommendations is
frequent hand disinfection with hand sanitizers and washing them with soaps and syndets. Their frequent
use could potentially lead to damage to the superficial layers of the skin and its barrier function, a change in
the skin microbiome and colonization by pathogenic organisms. In such conditions, the risk of developing
hand eczema is increased, of which the most common are irritant and allergic contact dermatitis. By
introducing changes to the hand hygiene routine such as washing with lukewarm water, proper hand drying
and the use of moisturizers that will restore moisture to the skin and prevent its loss, it is possible to prevent
adverse dematological effects.
