Abstract

Tradicionalna kineska medicina je drevni holistički sustav razvijen u Kini gdje se i danas intenzivno koristi za očuvanje zdravlja, prevenciju bolesti i liječenje, a sve je popularnija i u zapadnom svijetu. Najvećim se dijelom temelji na fitoterapiji i primjeni nekoliko stotina ljekovitih kineskih biljnih droga koje sve češće susrećemo i u europskim ljekarnama. Aktualno 8. izdanje Europske farmakopeje sadrži monografije s utvrđenim normama kakvoće za čak 43 biljne droge iz tradicionalne kineske medicine. Ovaj rad sistematično i detaljno analizira šest odabranih kineskih biljnih droga (Carthami flos, Ephedrae herba, Magnoliae officinalis flos, Sophorae japonicae flos i Sophorae japonicae flos immaturus) u kontekstu njihovih prirodnih izvora, fitokemijskog sastava, tradicionalne primjene i znanstvenih dokaza o djelotvornosti kao i farmakopejskih postupaka za utvrđivanje kakvoće.

Abstract (english)

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is an ancient holistic system originating from China, where is widely used today for health promotion and disease prevention and treatment, gaining more popularity in western countries as well. Based mainly on phytotherapy, TCM practice uses few hundreds of medicinal plants and some of them are increasingly present in European pharmacies. Currently, the latest 8th edition of the European Pharmacopoeia contains 43 monograps on traditional Chinese herbal drugs. This thesis explores and systematically processes six herbal drugs of traditional Chinese medicine (Carthami flos, Ephedrae herba, Magnoliae officinalis flos, Sophorae japonicae flos i Sophorae japonicae flos immaturus) in terms of their plant origin, phytochemical composition, traditional usage, scientific evidence on effectiveness as well as pharmacopoeial procedure used for quality control.
